Implant Placement with Simultaneous Guided Bone Regeneration Using Connective Tissue as a Barrier: Re-entry Evaluation
نویسندگان
چکیده
Connective tissue is an autogenous tissue which has shown successful results as a barrier due to its mesanchymal cells with osteogenic capacity. In this case the defect around the dental implant was treated simultaneously with demineralized freezed dried bone and connective tissue as a membrane. Re-entry was done to evaluate the site in 6 months. Restoration was completely functional in the one-year period of follow-up after loading, with no signs of inflammation, pocket probing depth and

Mechanisms of Guided Bone Regeneration: A Review
Post-extraction crestal bone resorption is common and unavoidable which can lead to significant ridge dimensional changes. To regenerate enough bone for successful implant placement, Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) is often required. GBR is a surgical procedure that uses barrier membranes with or without particulate bone grafts or/and bone substitutes. There are two approaches of GBR in implant ...
متن کاملGuided bone regeneration: A literature review
Guided bone regeneration (GBR) is a reconstructive procedure of alveolar ridge using membranes. This procedure is indicated when there is no sufficient bone for implantation, or in the case of optimal implant installation for esthetic or functional needs. GBR can be performed before implant placement, when there is not enough bone for initial stability of implants and less predictable outcomes ...
متن کاملAlveolar Ridge Augmentation with Titanium Mesh. A Retrospective Clinical Study
An adequate amount of bone all around the implant surface is essential in order to obtain long-term success of implant restoration. Several techniques have been described to augment alveolar bone volume in critical clinical situations, including guided bone regeneration, based on the use of barrier membranes to prevent ingrowth of the epithelial and gingival connective tissue cells. To achieve ...
متن کاملPreliminary evaluation of a three-dimensional, customized, and preformed titanium mesh in peri-implant alveolar bone regeneration
OBJECTIVES The purpose of this preliminary study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a customized, three-dimensional, preformed titanium mesh as a barrier membrane for peri-implant alveolar bone regeneration. MATERIALS AND METHODS Ten patients were recruited for this study. At the time of implant placement, all patients had fenestration or a dehiscence defect around the implant fixture. A mix...
متن کاملA Liquid Membrane as a Barrier Membrane for Guided Bone Regeneration
Membranes made of several different materials are available in the market, nonresorbable (e.g. ePTFE), resorbable (e.g. synthetic or collagen) and liguid applicable (e.g. Polyethylene glycol or Atrisorb). The purpose of the present study was to evaluate whether or not in situ application of Atrisorb could be used as a barrier membrane for guided bone regeneration. Ten patients with insufficient...
